Areas We Service

Choosing the wrong contractor for your construction materials or construction services isn’t just frustrating: it’s costly. If you get low-quality products, have to deal with supply delays or rely on a company that can’t be trusted to adhere to costs or schedules, your end project will be seriously affected.

That’s why we’ve gradually expanded our business to serve more Queensland cities and areas. We’ve been in business since 1990, and we’ve always prioritised our customers and their needs. Expanding our areas or service means being able to serve them better. Now, you can work with us no matter where you are in the area - even when you’re working far from our head office and quarry in Miles.
That’s because Ostwald Construction Materials (OCM) has a network of quarries and concrete batch plants located around the Surat and Bowen Basins, from which we service a multitude of areas:

Ostwald Construction Materials quarry locations and service area:

Dalby (Hustons Road) Quarry and Concrete Batch Plant
Location: 16km from the town centre of Dalby
Servicing: Dalby and surrounds

The city of Dalby is the administrative centre of the Western Downs Region. It is home to over 12,000 people - and an area well-known for the grain and cotton that is grown here.

Our quarry is located on Hustons Road, 16 kilometres from Dalby’s town centre. This allows us to work the quarry without worrying about disturbing our neighbours - and also gives us access to Dalby and its infrastructure.

Our Dalby concrete batch plant is located at our head office and services the Western Downs region.

Crossroads Quarry and Concrete Batch Plant
Location: 25km south-west of Chinchilla on Noel Robinson Road
Servicing: Chinchilla, Miles, Condamine, Kogan and surrounds

Serving all your Condamine, Kogan and Miles concrete and stone needs is our Crossroads concrete batch plant and quarry. Located about 25 kilometres south-west of Chinchilla, the melon capital of Australia, where we manufacture all the materials you’ll find listed on this website.

Due to our prime location, we are able to service the resource industry's ongoing need for construction materials.

Knob Hill Quarry
Location: 47km from Wandoan
Servicing: Wandoan and surrounds

Our Knob Hill Quarry is located less than 50km away from Wandoan: a city known for its production of wheat, beef and sorghum. The area has long been known for its coal and gas mines; today, we also know that it provides top- quality stones and construction materials that our clients love.

With our Wandoan quarry conveniently located north of Chinchilla, we are able to cover a larger area of the Surat Basin. This means local businesses can get gravel, rocks, concrete and other materials quickly and at a fair price; something we’re very proud of.

Mt Bassett Quarry
Location: 25.7km north of Roma
Servicing: Roma and surrounds

Roma is the administrative centre of the Maranoa: an area with a vast agricultural industry that brings in over $600 million annually, and processes well over 350,000 heads of cattle annually. With such a bustling commercial sector and so many cattle farms and sale yards, you can imagine that a lot of construction needs to be done here - which is why we opted to open our Mt. Bassett Quarry, located just 25 kilometres north of Roma.

For those located west of our Crossroads concrete plant and quarry, the Mt. Bassett Quarry is a convenient location which can be accessed by heavy transport.

Headache Hill Quarry
Location: 20km south of Injune Taroom Road on Duck Creek Road
Servicing: Injune, Pony Hills and surrounds

In the past, Injune was mainly a beef and dairy agricultural centre. Located nearly 100 kilometres north-west of Roma, Injune is now a major manufacturer of gas and timber in the area. The recent growth and development in the area and the need for quality construction materials, lead to the opening of the quarry which allows us to service Pony Hills, Injune and the surrounding areas.
