Indigenous Relations

Ostwald Bros is committed to building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. To facilitate this, we have introduced Indigenous employment and training initiatives designed to improve opportunities for Indigenous employees.

Through our Indigenous Participation Strategy, we are working to expand our knowledge and understanding of Indigenous relations and cultures, and to increase participation levels of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees. We are proud of our Indigenous Workstars program, a successful partnership with training and employment coordinators that supports our recruitment strategies.

As a testament to our commitment to engage and employ the local indigenous community, Ostwald Bros in partnership with QGC were awarded the Training, Education and Development Award for our Plant Operator Training Program at the 2015 Queensland Supply Chain & Logistics Awards.

The program provides locals with an innovative training pathway to a career in the construction, resource and logistics industry, as each participant is supported on their journey to becoming 'workplace ready' as entry-level plant operators and drivers.
