Minister for Main Roads Warren Pitt recently congratulated Ostwald Bros. for its contribution to the outstanding results achieved during the Accelerated Road Rehabilitation Project in Central Queensland.

Ostwald Bros. was one of three companies that partnered with the Department of Main Roads to complete a $91 million upgrade of Dawson Highway between Calliope and Banana, finalising the project six months ahead of schedule and under budget.

Mr Pitt said: “By forming an alliance we were able to fast-track works by making better use of resources and combining our areas of expertise.

"At the peak of construction, crews were completing more than three kilometres of new highway each week."

From August 2006 the Ostwald Bros, Canstruct, Worsley Parson (formerly JWP), and Main Roads Alliance worked to rejuvenate sections of the Dawson and Leichhardt Highways achieving industry-leading levels of production.

In just 16 months, the Accelerated Road Rehabilitation Project – Central Queensland widened and resealed 90kms of the Dawson Highway and Leichhardt Highways and replaced 12 timber bridges with concrete structures.

Ostwald Bros. CEO Brendan Ostwald said: “Throughout the project we were able to utilise the experience of the Alliance team and give incentives to achieve groundbreaking results.”
