Home >  Case Studies > Queensland Gas Company ponds  Ostwald Bros was awarded a two year contract with Queensland Gas Company (QGC), now part of the BG Group, for the construction of various environmental ponds at the QGC gas-fired plant in Central Queensland. Ostwald Bros is also engaged in the construction of various ponds in and around the QGC site west of Dalby ranging from 12.8 ML (megalitres) to 679.5ML. The environmental ponds are used as holding ponds for by-water produced during the extraction of coal seam gas. By March 2010 a total of 15 ponds were already complete.
