As a contractor at Rio Tinto’s Clermont Mine in central Queensland, Ostwald Bros carried out initial bulk earthworks, roadworks and services including sewer, water and fire mains.
The company also completed bulk earthworks for the 500 man camp and completed all contracts within critical delivery dates enabling timely progress of the project.
From these initial works Ostwald Bros went on to complete extensive highway and bridgeworks including a 15.6 km diversion of the Peak Downs Highway and Gregory Development Road along with Gowrie Creek diversion for the mine. Its concreting crews completed 70 “6.5x3.5x1.2”culverts together with two pre-stressed concrete bridges.
