In April 2006 Ostwald Bros was selected as a partner in one of central Queensland’s largest road projects, the Accelerated Road Rehabilitation Project – Central Queensland (ARRP-CQ).
Main Roads selected Ostwald Bros, John Wilson and Partners (Worley Parsons) and Canstruct as alliance partners to rehabilitate 71 km of the Dawson Highway between Calliope and Banana and replace seven timber bridges between Calliope and Rolleston by December 2007.
The team was able to meet the right standards and achieve outstanding results so that by May 2007, the initial scope of the road rehabilitation was complete - six months ahead of schedule.
By delivering the initial highway upgrades ahead of schedule, the Alliance team was awarded an extra $19 million of bridge and roadwork's on the Leichhardt and Dawson Highway's.
By the end of the project the alliance team had also constructed five car and heavy vehicle stopping bays on both highways and completed 11 bridge replacements.
Throughout the project Ostwald Bros maintained comprehensive environmental and safety management programs and were able to deliver quality results.
